Meet Dr. Andrew Gear

Before opening Providence Plastic Surgery, Dr. Andrew Gear exercised his abilities and skills in both private group practice and corporate cosmetic medicine. This followed nearly 20 years of education, including undergraduate studies and medical school at the University of Virginia, general and plastic surgery residencies at the University of Minnesota, and 6-month fellowships in Pediatric/Craniofacial and Cosmetic surgery. Dr. Gear is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Andrew Gear focuses on delivering the most personalized care to his patients with the highest level (and least invasive) of technological options and availability. Providence Plastic Surgery provides a private, boutique experience for each patient, meaning our reputation is our own, therefore we’re making our expert decisions and walking our clients through every step personally and professionally. There is no soulless waiting room, clipboards of paperwork, and cold, fluorescent exam rooms with paper robes and routine pre-chatter. You are the only patient there during your consultation and have the utmost attention of Dr. Andrew Gear and his staff from the moment you walk in, to the moment you walk out and anytime you are conversing with our dedicated team.

aesthetic values centered on natural beauty

Results look fake too often in the world of plastic surgery. The most common cause is a judgment issue in which the surgeon (sometimes with the blessing of the patient) intentionally creates a change which is not natural or fitting with the individual’s features. These problems can be avoided if the cosmetic surgeon adheres to a core set of aesthetic values.

Dr. Andrew Gear’s aesthetic values center on natural beauty and subtle changes. He strongly believes that the best results are those which look like they organically fit on an individual’s face and body.

In order to create customized aesthetic goals, Dr. Gear approaches each patient in a conversational style consultation. Each consult is different and tailored to each individual’s needs and priorities. Dr. Gear believes that listening and dialogue is critical for him to understand what is at the core of each of his patient’s wishes.

I enjoy the freedom of solo practice. The doctor patient relationship is sacred. It is governed by transparency and the peace that comes from truth rather than a hard sell. Patients often say this is not like any doctors office I’ve ever been to. They feel at home. This is our vision and it has been in the making for close to seven years. It is thrilling to see it come to pass. - Dr. Andrew Gear
